State Low Income Housing Tax Credit Extension Bill (SB18-007) Approved by Senate Finance Committee Last week, Senate Bill 18-007 passed its first hurdle. This bill, which would extend Colorado’s existing state LIHTC program to 2024 and change its name to the Colorado Affordable Housing Tax Credit program, was heard in Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday, January 23 and advanced on a 3-2 vote with Senators Jack Tate (R), Lois Court (D), and Cheri Jahn (U) voting yes, and Senators Tim Neville (R) and Jim Smallwood (R) voting no. The bill will be heard next in Senate Appropriations Committee. The specific hearing date in Senate Appropriations has not yet been set.
