2018 community report available

CHFA’s 2018 Community Report is now available. Below are some of the highlights! In 2018 CHFA:
  • Invested in Colorado homeownership: 8,355 customers served with home mortgage or refinance loans or mortgage credit certificates

register for housing credit summit: building the future

Registration is now open for CHFA’s Housing Credit Summit: Building the Future. The event occurs Thursday, June 20 in Denver.

CHFA’s Housing Credit Summit is a unique opportunity for Colorado’s Low Income Housing Tax Credit developers and affordable housing stakeholders to share ideas and network with local and national investors. Michael Novogradac will again provide the keynote presentation during the lunch portion of our conference and provide insight on the contributing factors affecting the future success of the program.

All members of the affordable housing community are encouraged to attend this event, which will provide forums for dialogue and brainstorming about LIHTC policies and national housing issues.

2019 round one LIHTC applications received

Applications for the state Affordable Housing Tax Credits (AHTC) and 4 percent federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) allocation round have been received. CHFA received 16 applications. Combined, the applicants are seeking $13.2 million in state AHTC and $19.2 million in federal 4 percent LIHTC. CHFA has $5.7 million in state AHTC to award in 2019.

Proposed projects include those serving families, seniors, people with disabilities, and homeless. Three proposed projects will preserve existing affordable housing.

Round One awards are expected to be announced in early May.

affordable rental housing developments celebrate progress

Several events to celebrate soon-to-come affordable rental housing developments recently occurred including:
  • Providence at the Heights celebrated its groundbreaking in Aurora. Upon completion, the development will provide Permanent Supportive Housing to homeless individuals and families. CHFA was proud to support Providence at the Heights by awarding Providence at the Heights $1,185,541 in federal 9 percent LIHTC in 2017.
  • Residences at Hoffman Apartments is being built in Aurora and a celebration was held to recognize its groundbreaking. Residences at Hoffman will provide housing for seniors, and consist of one- and two-bedroom units. CHFA was proud to support the development by awarding $801,701 in 4 percent LIHTC and $933,673 in state Affordable Housing Tax Credits (AHTC) in 2018.
  • Vida at Sloans Lake held a job-site bar-b-que to celebrate reaching its final construction stages. Vida at Sloans Lake is part of the St. Anthony’s Redevelopment Plan in Denver, and will serve independent seniors and households living with disabilities. CHFA was proud to support the development by awarding $1,250,000 in federal 9 percent LIHTC and $1,067,781 in federal 4 percent LIHTC in 2016. A health clinic on the ground floor of the building was financed with New Markets Tax Credits.
