Mike Pacheco Retires
After a noteworthy career in housing and finance, Senior Tax Credit Officer Mike Pacheco is
retiring on February 28. In his 13 years at CHFA, Mike has made many friends and memories.
Mike’s role in ensuring that CHFA awarded Low Income Housing Tax Credits to worthy projects has made a major
impact on Colorado’s affordable housing. As part of this work, Mike spent a lot of time in communities throughout
the state providing technical assistance and bringing local stakeholders together with developers.
“I have many great memories from over the years working with the best developers in the country. Most recently, it’s been nice to see the all new development in rural Colorado. We’ve accomplished so much with the Housing Authority of Grand Junction and I was also really proud to be part of the first LIHTC projects in Trinidad and La Junta,” said Mike.
While Mike is excited for retirement, he will also miss CHFA.
“CHFA offers three incredible things: the best people in Colorado (especially the very special members of the Tax Credit Team), a wonderful working environment, and a tremendously challenging mission. I’ll miss those things. The people are number one. CHFA can hire the best and they do—and they keep them. I’ve really loved everyone who I’ve known and worked with here. They are the best. I’ll miss being with the best,” said Mike.
Further reflecting on his time at CHFA, Mike gives his personal analysis, “I’ve always believed that paradise awaits us after this life’s journey. But I found paradise on this side of the sky right here at CHFA (if I may paraphrase Andrew Lloyd Webber).”
Mike looks forward to joining his wife Adriana in retirement. They will enjoy traveling, spending time with their twelve grandchildren, and researching their family histories in Europe.
Congratulations on your retirement, Mike!
