  • applying trauma-informed care;
  • identifying effective self-care strategies;
  • practicing “Motivational Interviewing;”
  • understanding the process of change;
  • managing escalation (de-escalation theory and approaches);
  • making ethical decisions;
  • understanding and assessing suicidal and homicidal ideation; and

Offered in partnership with the Human Services Network of Colorado, this series focuses on practical approaches for case management and other helpful relationships that are not primarily therapeutic in nature.

**New** HUD on REAC, Denver and Webinar 03.14.19

All developments insured under the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Federal Housing Administration (HUD), and all properties receiving Section 8 subsidy, are subject to inspections by HUD's Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC). Recently, HUD announced that limited advance notice will be given for future inspections.

Fortunately, HUD will be at CHFA for a partial-day training to review the REAC physical inspection process. They will cover:
  • the inspector's role;
  • the top 20 common deficiencies;
  • best practices for inspection; and,
  • useful web links for affordable housing providers.

Don't miss the opportunity to learn about REAC inspections straight from HUD! You'll be confident about what to expect from your inspector leading up to and on the day of your property's inspection.
