how to connect

Some diversity classes leave participants feeling guilty and awkward, but not this one. “Cultural Humility: A Place to Begin" starts with the premise that everyone has a culture; the humility comes from a lifelong process of self-evaluation and reflection. It is a place to begin—and hopefully—a place to connect. Topics of this class include:
  • What elements are included in culture?

  • Individual, institutional, and systemic culture

  • Cultural diversity, cultural competency, and cultural humility

  • Historical trauma and how trauma affects your work
Most agencies view a “cultural” training as a one-time workshop. We view “Cultural Humility” as a place to begin.
