  • Troubleshooting Air Conditioning Systems │ May 13, 2016

    This eight-hour seminar is all about troubleshooting and analyzing the refrigeration side of air conditioning systems. We will use extensive hands-on lab time to learn how to identify and correct most refrigeration-side problems.

    Topics will include:

    • Refrigerant under-charge
    • Refrigerant overcharge
    • Low air flow situation
    • High air flow situation
    • Metering device problems
    • Condenser coil problems
    • Contaminated refrigerant problems

    Participants will learn the techniques to correct these problems and verify normal operation.

    Please note that this is not an introductory class. Attendees should be familiar with the sequence of operations of residential style air conditioners, possess and know how to use the tools of the trade, and be EPA certified. This class counts toward eight NATE credit hours.

This class will guide technicians through the ins and outs of new breeds of electronically commutated motors found in modern heating, cooling, and refrigeration equipment.

    • Theory of operation: how it works
    • Major similarities and differences between types of ECM motors
    • Troubleshooting and diagnostics
