The Public Will Building Development Team - comprised of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce,
Metro Denver Homeless Initiative, Metro Mayors' Caucus, Governor Hickenlooper's Homeless Initiatives Team,
Denver Homeless Out Loud, The Denver Foundation, and leaders with personal experience being homeless - are working
with diverse community collaboratives to form a grassroots network to build public will to address homelessness.
This team is interested in learning more about how to best engage and support those in the housing community.
what is public will building?
Public Will Building incorporates a combination of grassroots outreach, mass media communications, and research- based messaging.
This campaign is intended to move Metro Denver residents to regard homelessness as a priority issue. Ultimately, the campaign seeks
public will to support policy
and system changes aimed at alleviating the underlying causes of homelessness as people move along a continuum from homelessness
being unknown to solutions being identified and sustained through policy and public support.
- Increased understanding of Public Will Building plan and data from the Public Opinion Survey.
- Talk about the types of collaboratives identified and how housing fits into these collaboratives.
- Explore with the ways attendees can engage in this effort, and discuss next steps
